Independent Legal Advice

Under Australian family law, a Binding Financial Agreement (BFA) is a legally enforceable contract that outlines how a couple's assets, liabilities, and financial resources will be divided in the event of separation or divorce. To ensure the validity and enforceability of a BFA, the Family Law Act 1975 mandates that each party must receive independent legal advice before signing the agreement.

Without proper independent legal advice, a BFA may be deemed invalid or unenforceable by the courts.

We offer a fixed-fee service of $1,760 (including GST) to review a Binding Financial Agreements (BFAs) and provide the required Certificate of Independent Legal Advice. This ensures that your BFA complies with the Family Law Act 1975 and is legally enforceable, providing you with clarity and peace of mind.

Our fixed-fee structure allows you to budget confidently, knowing there are no unexpected costs.
